Abramoff/Rove aide Susan Ralston and a mock-up of her off-record crackberry

From TPM Muckraker:

Much to the chagrin of the White House, House Government Reform Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-CA) wants to hear from Susan Ralston.
Jack Abramoff's former personal assistant, Ralston became Karl Rove's assistant in 2001, where she was his "implant" at the White House...The hearing will also be a good opportunity for Waxman to press for more details about White House employees' use of outside email accounts provided by the Republican National Committee. Ralston used such outside accounts when corresponding with Abramoff, even writing to him once, “I now have an RNC blackberry which you can use to e-mail me at any time. No security issues like my WH email.”

Here is Waxman's letter in .pdf.

Peek-Abu!

From the Chicago Sun-Times' Natasha Korecki:

Alberto Gonzales dashed out of a [scheduled 15 minute] Chicago news conference this afternoon in just two and a half minutes, ducking questions about how his office gave U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald a subpar rating...He sat next to Fitzgerald, whom his office had rated as undistinguished.

Mucho embarassante!
But, fast moving little feet cannot save the day.
This fascinating editorial by josephcannon on TrustMe.com provides several interesting e-possibilities that explain a great deal about "the Bushies".
Interested citizens have noted, over time, certain curious on the record statements by highly placed members of Team Bush denying the use of email in their work.
At various times, George Bush, Condoleeza Rice, Donald Rumsfeld, Michael Chertoff and Alberto Gonzales have all denied using the world's most popular and efficient communications system, a system (.gov) officially provided to the President and his staff in keeping with the provisions of the Presidential Records Act of 1978.
Talking Points Memo, credited with keeping this story alive while the Main Stream Media ignored it, has a great rundown.
Mucho interasante!

Fresh drippings from the Prince of Darkness:

"I have not seen a president so isolated from his own party in Congress -- not Jimmy Carter, not even Richard Nixon as he faced impeachment." Republicans in Congress do not trust Bush...The overriding feeling in the Republican cloakroom is that the Justice Department and the White House could not have been more inept...Bush is alone.

Equally curious, after two weeks where Mr. Bush's solo Camp David return photos further fueled tabloid rumors of presidential marriage difficulties, the First Lady, yesterday, went through the very noticeable motions of returning from the Maryland mountains with her husband.
Following an unusual staged two shot, the First Couple, more curiously still, were photographed walking separately from Marine 1.
Here's the First Lady...
And, here's the President.
